What Worked Well for Truflation

Short Posts (3 Sentences) & Strategic Replies to Major Accounts

This approach led to Truflation’s most-viewed post ever. A simple three-sentence structure drove engagement:

Narrative – A compelling hook.
Supporting Data – A statistic or fact reinforcing the narrative.
Engagement Prompt – A question or reason to interact.

With precise timing and strategic replies to major KOLs, this post reached 300K views in just one day, achieving high organic engagement.

Interactive Threads on Trending Topics (Leveraging Momentum)

Anticipating trends and capitalizing on momentum is a powerful strategy for success. In early January, before the controversy gained traction, we were already discussing tariffs.

As an institutional account, we focused on delivering technical content in an impartial manner, making complex topics accessible while maintaining credibility.

This approach reinforced Truflation’s authority, positioning the project as a trusted voice in the space.

Another example of capitalizing on momentum was the Grok3 launch, where we created simple interactive posts to ride the hype and amplify key messages.

A standout case was a post on Stefan’s (Truflation’s CEO) account, where we recently started building engagement. Despite having only 600 followers, the interactive tweet surpassed 19K views, demonstrating the effectiveness of well-timed content.

Easy-to-Read Posts

In a simple interactive post, we typically capture 15 seconds of the reader’s attention. However, by incorporating engaging media or compelling phrasing, we can extend that to 40 seconds or more.

Sometimes, a short and catchy message is enough. This is particularly effective for finance-related curiosities and country comparisons, which resonate well with the audience.

The formula is straight forward:

• A brief explanation.
• Relevant data.
• A closing element to drive interaction (with added notes for institutional credibility).

It’s also worth noting that AI-generated results were inaccurate in some cases. To ensure accuracy, we performed manual calculations and provided the community with clear, reliable insights.

Delivering Alpha to the Audience

Truflation’s audience has a strong interest in macroeconomics, making it the perfect space to provide valuable insights.

Although Truflation is a well-known name in the blockchain space, it’s not as dominant in TradFi, meaning we can’t simply repost news that larger accounts will already cover. Instead, we need to offer Alpha unique insights that others aren’t highlighting.

This can come from:

• Deep data analysis, particularly on inflation (the core topic of the profile).
• Spotting trends before they gain mainstream attention.

A great example was a post on yield curve inversion, which garnered 125K views, as well as another case on the spread of high-yield bonds, both driving strong engagement.

Connecting with the Community

Not everyone follows live streams, Discord discussions, or whitepapers. Many valuable insights can be repurposed and adapted for X (Twitter), which remains the strongest platform for building a community in both finance and crypto.

This approach helps shape narratives and reinforce key messages. A great example is a strategy that has now become a standard practice:

• During a live stream, Stefan and Oliver shared an image and their opinion on the BLS CPI Forecast.
• Since not everyone could watch the live, we requested the image and created an interactive post about it.
• Their forecast was correct, as it usually is, strengthening Truflation’s credibility.

This successful formula turned into a monthly tradition, where Truflation now publishes these forecasts before CPI releases, helping build trust and brand authority.

Additionally, since CEOs and Product Owners aren’t always active on X, repurposing their insights from other platforms helps boost engagement and credibility.

Partnership announcements are essential, as the community loves staying updated on product developments and collaborations.

In this case, while it wasn’t a direct partnership involving Truflation, it served as a reminder that the project has the backing of Chainlink and Coinbase.

This type of content helps reinforce community belonging, fostering a sense of trust and legitimacy around the project.

Memes: A Fun and Engaging Way to Communicate

Memes are a lighthearted and effective way to convey messages while leaving room for audience interpretation.

Although we don’t use them frequently, they work well sporadically, especially when leveraging trending topics. The key is to keep them simple and relevant, rather than overly sophisticated.

A great example was a Doge-themed meme, which aligned perfectly with Truflation’s profile and audience.

For the launch of Truflation’s India Inflation Index, we shared various technical posts, but also leveraged memes to increase reach and engagement.

This approach helped balance informative content with lighthearted elements, making the announcement more accessible and shareable within the community.

This adds a human touch to the institution and strengthens its connection with the community.

What Doesn’t Work Well

Posting real-time data drops (e.g., CPI reports) is ineffective since large KOLs will immediately post about them, absorbing most of the audience.

A better approach is to post later in the day with additional insights or a short, engaging take while tapping into KOL audiences through replies.

Replies Strategy

More important than saying something incredibly intelligent or funny is simply being in the right place at the right time.

While we can't fully control virality, we can increase our chances by:

Highlighting the significant inflation of recent years and its economic impact is essential for Truflation.

Many people are aware of these issues, and disagreeing with mainstream narratives can be an effective way to boost engagement and interactions.

Along the same lines, disagreeing with the FED or BLS can be a great engagement driver. It doesn’t need to be a direct or harsh criticism, a subtle take is often just as effective.
