The brief

Truflation publishes economic data, with inflation as its core topic, for an audience that spans DeFi and TradFi. Knowledge levels vary widely, and Truflation is less established in TradFi, so reposting news that larger accounts already cover would not work. The account needed original insight, good timing and a steady presence in the right conversations.

What we did

  • Three-sentence posts: hook, supporting data, engagement prompt
  • Interactive threads on trending topics such as tariffs
  • Original macro insight on inflation, yield curves and bonds
  • Monthly CPI forecast posts repurposed from team livestreams
  • Reply sprints on high-engagement KOL posts
  • Expanded in mid-February to Stefan Rust's account, TRUF.Network and the newsletter

How it unfolded

  1. Oct 21 – Oct 30, 2024

    First contrarian replies

Early replies take a contrarian angle on posts by Watcher.Guru and Charlie Bilello.

  2. Dec 6 – Dec 16, 2024

    Launch memes and macro

An India Inflation Index meme and a Chainlink and Coinbase post lead up to a yield-curve inversion post with 125K views.

  3. Early Jan 2025

    Tariffs and CPI forecasts

A tariffs thread on Jan 11 comes before the topic takes off; the first CPI forecast drawn from a livestream becomes a monthly post.

  4. Jan 21, 2025

    Reply turned quote

A reply to @VladTheInflator gets quoted and reaches 80K+ views.

  5. Mid-Feb 2025

    Scope expands

The contract grows to CEO Stefan Rust's account, TRUF.Network and the newsletter; on Feb 18, Grok 3 posts go out on brand and CEO profiles.

  6. Mar 12, 2025

    Most-viewed post ever

'Truflation got it right again. CPI: 2.8% (YoY)' reaches 300K views in one day, the most in the account's history.

The approach

Timing mattered more than cleverness: replies within 1–3 minutes of a post going live, on high-engagement KOL accounts, with comments that stand out. Real-time data drops such as CPI reports were avoided, since large KOLs absorb that attention; posts came later in the day with added insight.

“You guys are so easy to work with, you very quickly understood our messaging, and have been wonderfully flexible as we've navigated both internal changes and directions in messaging. I could not recommend MOIC enough!”
